An IMEI showing as 0 (or 000...) typically indicates that the device's EFS (Encrypted File System) partition is corrupted or that there is a communication failure between the operating system and the modem firmware.
Because the IMEI is a unique hardware identifier, "fixing" it via software can be difficult and, in many regions, legally restricted. Here is a guide on how to approach this, ranging from simple resets to professional repair.
1. Soft Reset & SIM Re-insertion
Before attempting technical fixes, ensure it isn't a temporary firmware glitch.
Power Cycle: Turn the phone off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
Reseat the SIM: Remove the SIM tray, check for damage, and re-insert it. If you use an eSIM, try toggling "Mobile Network" off and on in Settings.
Toggle Airplane Mode: Switch it on for 10 seconds and then off to force the modem to restart.
2. Check for System Updates
If a recent update caused the corruption, Google may have released a "hotfix."
Go to Settings > System > System update.
If an update is available, install it via Wi-Fi.

If the IMEI is 0 and you also notice that Wi-Fi or Bluetooth cannot be toggled on, the issue is likely a physical failure of the motherboard or the modem chip.
Dropped Phone: A hard impact can desolder pins on the baseband processor.
Water Damage: Corrosion can short out the power lines to the modem.

Illegal Software: Avoid "IMEI Repair" tools found on sketchy forums. Changing an IMEI to anything other than the original number printed on your box/SIM tray is illegal in many countries and can lead to the device being blacklisted.
Warranty/Support: If your Pixel is still under warranty, do not attempt to root the device or flash custom ROMs to fix this. Contact Google Support or your carrier immediately. An IMEI 0 is often grounds for a device replacement if there is no physical/liquid damage.
